JENNIE FINCH, #27
Jennie will celebrate her 24th birthday in a couple of weeks and at 6-foot-1, she is the standout pitcher for the U.S. Olympic softball team, throwing the ball 70 miles per hour! In college, she set an NCAA record by winning 60 straight games, but more importantly, Jennie says, "I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; He is my Lord and Savior. My faith has affected my career greatly. I would not be who I am today. God gave me this talent to use and He helps me daily to continue to pursue His will. He has blessed me with great parents, great friends, awesome teammates, so many great coaches, a great strength coach and so much more... I am here to be a role model for young girls and show them what really counts ... and that is what is on the inside... True happiness and contentment is not found in the things of this world, but in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ... Being rich in spirit!!!! I cant express that enough, its about living right and knowing what really matters in life. Fame and money will come and go but your family and your faith will be with you forever... This really hit me this Christmas, God spoke loud and clear to me and has shown me what really matters in life and what true happiness is!!! ... Yes, I think all of us believers take a little heat about confessing our faith. Compared to what Jesus had to face its nothing. I saw "Passion of Christ," what a great movie. Keep up the good work on and off the field. Its not easy in today's world but with God all things are possible!!! We all struggle and fall, keep your eyes set on him!!! #27" (quotes taken from Jennie's website http://www.jenniefinch.net and to read about other Christian athletes, go to http://www.bpsports.net/default.asp)
